Business Challenge
CURIA is the name of the European Court of Justice website. OPOCE is the Office for the Official Publications of the European Union.
Business Objectives
The Court of Jutice requested OPOCE that its paper collection of case-law should be:
- edited under a digital format;
- published on CD-ROM media;
- in a cost-effective manner;
- searchable;
- for each of the 11th european languages;
- using the same interface as the CURIA web site.
Technical Goals
- ensure proper document indexing for any encoding and file formats requested;
- ensure that the indexing mechanism would be simple to use;
- all the data, indexes and documents for a complete year of jurisprudence should stick within a single CD-ROM;
- be supported by most off-the-shelf browsers.
Solutions Applied
Using the Open Source skill of its team, Dixite proposed a state-of-the-art solution based on GPL middleware.
Dixite identified the system requirements and submitted a URD to the customer. After validation, a search engine has been developped using Java and lead OSS indexation engine.
