Business Challenge

Guide des Ministeres is the company owning the rights upon and distributing the famous begian directory of federal, community and regional public services.

Business Objectives

GDM developped an in-house legacy solution in order to create and maintain its information repository. Its business objectives were:

realise a technical change in order better exploit its information on new media;
sell a searchable CD-ROM version of its directory.

Technical Goals

The project technical goals were to:

realise an evolutive data model after the re-engineering of the current data;
propose an extensible data formatting that could be re-used by a variety of future services;
ensure that the technical solutions are robust and evolving.

Solutions Applied

Dixite has collected all technical requirements of the future application in a URD. A tailor-made solution has been developped in Java to support the data maintenance on top of Oracle technologies and the search engine functionalities on CD-ROM.
